Description
MILLARD & DYCE - same (Century/Kaymar, 1973). Rare local custom pressing on the legendary Century label from a Maryland trio. Here's a review of this excellent album, copied with kind permission from the Acid Archives book:
"... Impressive, successful mix of electric and acoustic contemporary folk blues, with three guitars and bass. The typical private press weakness in singing and playing is missing; instead we get earthy, convincing vocals delivering no-bullshit tunes on Native Americans, the environment and society, mixed with more private love songs. A definite Tim Hardin influence can be heard, and as often it’s an advantage, especially since the emotional commitment of Millard & Dyce is so very real. A musical equivalent of those great old 70s movies like “The Scarecrow” or “Five Easy Pieces”; skillfully spun tales from the American underbelly with no desire to compromise. Fenner, Leland & O’Brien is a possible comparison, and this is at least as good."
Last copy seen of this album sold for $355, and it has never been reissued. This is a very nice copy, with only an inaudible hairline on one side. The Century pressing isn't perfect but not too shabby. The sleeve is close to M-, just some very minor dings. Condition is M-/EX.
I have been collecting and dealing rare 1960s-70s records and items for 25 years. All items are graded M/M-/Ex/Vg++/Vg+/Vg/Vg-/G/F/P based on both aural and visual aspects. “M” corresponds to 10/10 on a 1-10 scale, while “P” equals 1/10. I rarely offer records below Vg+. This is a grading system used by many LP dealers, and I use it for other types of items as well. Grading for LPs/45s is disc/sleeve. Defects or unusual properties of the item will be mentioned specifically. Feel free to inquire during the auction.
I usually have more items up for sale, be sure to check my other auctions.
I encourage use of eBay checkout, but will also send separate e-mails for verification. Shipping costs will be calculated after auction and added to winning bid. 45s and CDs never ship for more than $5 anywhere, single LPs never ship for more than $13. If you want to have the parcel sent registered or insured you must specifically require this. If you want to have the parcel sent registered or insured you must specifically require this. No ripoff "additional" fees for handling/eBay/Paypal/whatever added - what you see is what you get. Payment accepted via Paypal. For European customers I also accept direct bank-to-bank wire transfers, which is an excellent method. No money orders or cheques.
Winner must get in touch within 3 days after auction’s end and submit payment within 10 days, or item will be withdrawn and negative eBay feedback left. Enforcing this is how I got my only negative comment, and I'm proud of it. Positive eBay feedback always left for smooth transactions. Good luck!
