Up for bids is an original, Mono Jazz LP by Miles Davis with Sonny Rollins called "Dig" on Prestige Records. PRLP 7012. Released in 1956.
This is an original late 50's pressing on the yellow Prestige labels with the "203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J." address on both labels and "203 SO. WASHINGTON AVE., BERGENFIELD, N.J." address on the bottom-center of the back cover.
Deep groove pressing.
Edges of record are raised.
Front of cover is laminated.
Matrix (or trail-off) numbers have the stamped "AB" then the hand-etched "RVG" followed by a stamped "B" then finally a hand-etched "PRLP-7012-A -1" for Side A, and the stamped "AB" then the hand-etched "RVG" followed by a stamped "A" then finally a hand-etched "PRLP-7012-B" for Side 2.
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in VG Minus condition. Some wear and marking on front and back (mainly on back). Front has some tearing by the opening. Spine has a good amount of fraying. Back of cover, top-right has some writing and a small code stamp. Top corner at opening has a 5/8" split. Bottom corner at opening has a 1 1/2" split. Spine has a 7 1/2" split from its top and down. Spine titles are actually intact as they are curled over to the back cover.
I would rate the record’s condition as a STRONG VG. There are some marks, wear and a couple of deep scratches. Still sounds pretty good on my player.
Makes a great gift for any Miles or Rollins fan!
