MILES DAVIS - MODERN JAZZ GIANTS
A truly excellent condition copy of this 1959 Miles Davis jazz rarity, sparingly played with gleaming vinyl and great sounding playback

1959 very rare US -> UK EMI import, 1st press jazz rarity on the iconic and cherished US Prestige label : excellent plus (EX+) condition, gleaming, jet black sheen vinyl with earliest A/B matrices and "RVG" (Rudy van Gelder) stamped on both dead wax run-in's...difficult to identify any marks at all - if you look really hard under a bright light a few sporadic, very small and extremely light surface scuff marks come into view on side 1, and on side 2 similar close scrutiny reveals x2 1cm surface wispy hairlines...all very superficial and not impinging upon playback at all. There are TWO small blemishes that do require a little more describing : 1. A tiny (too small and inconspicuous to even photograph) manufacturing "dot" midway through the first track on side 2 which does result in x4 background and relatively unobtrusive rotational clicks. I have seen this type of manufacturing fault before on Prestige, Impulse, Riverside and even Blue Note label records - not uncommon and all the listener can do is accept it. Thankfully in this instance the manufacturing glitch is very minor, does not cause a skip or repeat, and does not deter from the wonderful listening experience. 2. Midway through the second track on side 2 there is a tiny 3mm scratch which, though non-feelable, does nevertheless result in NINE very light and background clicks (you will need to listen very hard to hear the last three of them) - again, annoying but thankfully relatively non-intrusive and not accompanied by any skip or repeat. The 1st press deep grooved labels are in excellent plus (EX+) condition - just a few small and extremely faint spindle trails, only visible when the vinyl is tilted to the right angle in a bright light, are all that prevents the labels from being graded as perfect; the condition of the thick cardboard, front side laminated outer sleeve is a solid excellent (EX), with firm unscuffed edges, near perfectly defined right angled corners (just a little scuffing on the top right corner, otherwise barely any rubbing at all), no laminate lifting, no cardboard creasing, just a few very light storage marks towards the edges on the reverse side, and with all colours and text remaining beautifully intact; wonderful audio quality with no clicks other than those described above, no skips, sticks, repeats, or jumps, no interference or distortion and any incidental background crackle is at an absolute minimum (very light and very background - negligible, in fact)) and does not impact upon the overall excellent sound quality - great tone with clear audio quality throughout. Comes complete with original and plain white inner sleeve : no seam splits, rips, or tears , just a little creasing and remaining fully functional.
A true jazz rarity featuring a who's who of jazz greats : Miles Davis, Milt Jackson, Thelonious Monk, Percy Heath, Kenny Clarke, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones - it doesn't get better than that! A "must have" for any serious jazz vinyl collection POSTAGE COSTS :

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
