MILES DAVIS Man With The Horn 2x12" promotional RARE

Description:

Miles Davis - 2 Promo 12" EPs

Columbia Records AS 984 and AS985
1981 US Promotional Issue

Condition - Covers are EX with some minor wear. Vinyl are LIKE NEW.

This is the only time I remember ever seeing a label do this (although I could be wrong) - a promotional release an entire LP split into two separate records, thus stretching the grooves and greatly improving the sound quality.

Track listing

All tracks composed by Miles Davis; except where indicated

AS 984
Side 1
"Shout" (Glenn Burris, Randy Hall, Robert Irving III) - 5:54
"The Man With The Horn" (Hall, Irving) - 6:40
Side 2
  "Back Seat Betty" - 11:15

AS 985
Side 1
  "Fat Time" - 9:54
  "Aïda" - 8:10

Side 2
  "Ursula" - 10:46

regarding WLP
Genreally promo copies of LPs were the first made from the stampers and in some cases were made using higher quality vinyl than the commercial pressings. The designation WLP the label may or may not be white, but will somewhere say promotional copy printed on the label.
