MILES DAVIS- BLUE MOODS- COLLECTABLE VINYL RECORD -VOCALION LEA-F 584- MONO.
This LP was produced in 1962 from a 1955 recording, with Davis, Britt Woodman, Teddy Charles, Elvin Jones and Charlie Mingus. I bought it from new and have not played it much over the years as there are other Miles records which I prefer. The vinyl looks excellent at first glance as there are no significant marks or scratches, but signs of use are visible under torch-light, so I would grade it as VG+. The sleeve has a small nick half way down the left edge, some evidence of ring-ware and some light scuffing on the lower edge. I would grade this as VG. The record label is perfect with no spindle marks. I believe this is a very early pressing with stamped run-offs of VMGT-2015-1B, VMGT-2016-1B, and the rear sleeve has flip-over edges top and bottom. I have recently played the record on my Rega P6, Creek Evolution50, Kef LS50 system, and it sounds very good even though it is a mono record. It runs perfectly flat with no sign of warp. [Mono records of this era were always on good quality vinyl.] I realise that grading is a bit subjective, but I have done my best using the "Goldmine Standard".
