MILES DAVIS
3 ONE-SIDED ACETATES OF RECORDINGS FROM THE FILLMORE EAST IN JUNE 1970 which were the basis of the 'Miles Davis At Fillmore' album released in 1970.
THESE PERFORMANCES ARE THE ORIGINALS THAT WERE REMIXED AND
EDITED TOGETHER TO MAKE THE OFFICIALLY RELEASED ALBUM.
THEY WERE NEVER ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN THEIR UNEDITED FORM!
THESE UTTERLY UNIQUE, ALMOST CERTAINLY ONE-OF-A-KIND DISCS COME
FROM TEO MACERO'S PERSONAL ARCHIVE AND FEATURE HIS ACTUAL
HANDWRITING AND SIGNATURE ON BOTH THE LABELS AND SLEEVES.
THEY WERE STORED IN THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY'S CLIMATE CONTROLLED
STORAGE FACILITY UNTIL WE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE ENTIRE ARCHIVE!
CONDITION:
All three acetates are in similar condition, which is a strong VG+. They look remarkably good for their age with very few scuffs and no scratches or flaking. We only needle dropped them briefly to assess over all sound quality, which is excellent. They each have a small area of light mildew towards the edge which we cleaned lightly with distilled water and a clean microfiber cloth which removed most but not all of it. A more thorough cleaning would almost certainly remove the rest, but we will leave that to the purchaser. The delicate original sleeves are mostly intact but there are a few tears visible in the pictures.
