SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICALS STYLES. This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1966 NATIONAL RECORDS JAMAICA PRESS LP containing ten calypso tunes from the legendary Trinidad calypso pioneer Mighty Sparrow. National Records are a product of West Indies Records Ltd of Jamaica, catalog number is NLP 5515, labels are as shown in the accompanying image. This is the ULTRA RARE Jamaican original pressing of the LP with the same title that was reissued in the U.S. on the Hilary label with different cover graphics. Tracks: Tattooed Lady, Steering Wheel, Big Bamboo, Papa Jack, Under My Skin, Punto Negro, English Diplomacy, Jordan, El Reloj, You Don't Love Me. Overall condition of this rare LP could be a bit better, I have set the opening bid price according to its condition and its rarity, I will leave it to the bidders to determine its final value, this LP has previously sold on eBay regularly in the $200-300+ range in VG+ or better condition - Condition of record is G with a good amount of surface and sleeve marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play, and a few surface scratches which can be felt and which will result in some ticks and some surface noise, record is a deep groove pressing that did not skip on my turntable with a lightweight tone arm and should not skip on yours but I cannot say for sure. Labels have a little bit of contact wear, no other problems. Condition of cover is VG-/VG with splits for the entire length of the bottom edge and the right hand 6" of the top edge (I have carefully and neatly repaired these splits by taping from the inside), a little clear tape that was applied at the middle of the open edge on both the front and back covers by a previous owner, a few small spots along the edges where the top layer of paper appears to have been eaten away by some of the paper eating silverfish we have here in Florida, a few slight wrinkles, some contact wear, and some wear and fraying along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no tears, stickers, or writing. This rare LP could be in better condition but would still be a choice addition to any calypso LP record collection!
