Original French first pressing from 1972 on DISQUES DEBS INTERNATIONAL, HDD 540, deep-grooved brown label. There's a later French pressing from the mid-70ies, after the LP won a price in 1974, the later edition has a note (looking like a sticker) on the cover informing about the price („PRIX BORIS VIAN 1974“); the copy I offer here is the first pressing from 1972. Linernotes in French & English on the back. Recorded in New York, August 3, 1972. One of the rare recordings by the great M.Sardaby from Martinique, who moved to France in his teens and studied piano in Paris in the 50ies. Soulful and funky modern jazz on 6 selfpenned tracks, sometimes with a deep or a modal edge (“Martinica“ !), with great solo-work by all players.

Condition: I have all DEBS records by M.Sardaby in my own collection and I have also had some other copies for sale before. Unfortunately all DEBS-pressing have a tendency to show a few little presssing-pimples & tiny vinyl-depressions, nothing really serious but they may cause slight crackles or occasional singular tics during the playback. The copy I offer here has this only very minimal, it's one of the best copies I ever came across, it plays besides these reservations in mint- all of the time, I have playgraded it completely. It also looks mint- except for the described very few pressing-imperfections.

The fully laminated cover is in pristine condition, all seams/spine are intact, front & back are absolutely fine; overall mint-.

Zustand: ich habe alle Sardaby-LPs auf DEBS in meiner eigenen Sammlung und habe auch bereits andere LP-Exemplare im Verkauf gehabt, die DEBS-Pressungen habe leider immer die Eigenart einige kleine Presspickelchen & -kraterchen zu haben, nichts Wildes aber beim Abspielen kann es schonmal leicht Knistern oder vereinzelt Ticken. Die hier angebotene LP hat dies nur ganz minimal, eine der besten Copies die ich bisher hatte, sie spielt ansonsten durchgehend in mint-, ich habe sie komplett konzentriert angehört. Die Platte sieht bis auf die beschriebenen wenigen pressungsbedingten Unvollkommenheiten auch mint- aus.

Das komplett laminierte Cover ist super erhalten, alle Kanten sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, Vorder- & Rückseite sind top; insgesamt in mint-.

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
