GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Note : musiche composte, arrangiate e dirette da Michel Legrand. Temi di carattere prevalentemente sinfonico con pianoforte e sezione d'archi in prima fila riflettenti atmosfere romantiche o malinconiche. Nessuna banalità da parte di Legrand nella costruzione compositiva ma grande sensibilità artistica e personalità creativa. Basta ascoltare " Main dans la Main " tema sinfonico di grande impatto emotivo dove tristezza e voglia di vivere si rincorrono.  Fuoriescono da questa tipologia musicale classica due brani. Il primo è " Vivons l' Aventure " dallo sviluppo ritmico frenetico e caratterizzato da incessante percussività, eccitanti improvvisazioni di organo e chitarra e in sottofondo sia il brusio di alcune voci che una sorta di cantilena eseguita dal coro. Poi " Gilles e Nathalie " bel tema jazz dal lento andamento ben sottolineato dal pianoforte e da alcuni interventi del sassofono. Le due versioni di " Dis-Moi ", con liriche di Françoise Sagan, sono cantate dallo stesso Michel Legrand in Francese. 

Notes : music composed, arranged and conducted by Michel Legrand. Themes mainly based on classical symphonies reflecting romantic or melancholy atmospheres with piano and string section in the foreground. No platitudes at all from Legrand in compositional construction but great artistic sensivity and creative personality. Just listen to " Main dans la Main " symphonic theme of great emotional impact where sadness and desire to live chase each other. Two tracks escape from this classical music typology " Vivons l' Aventure " from hectic pace and characterized by unceasing percussiveness, exciting improvisations of organ and guitar with the buzz of voices and a sort of sing-song performed by the chorus in the background. Then " Gilles et Nathalie " nice jazz theme from the slow development well underlined by piano and with some good presences of sax. The two versions of " Dis-Moi ", with lyrics by Françoise Sagan, are sung by Legrand himself in French.
