A fabulous 1st day of release promotional copy of this landmark album! Pressed at the highly regarded Santa Maria CBS plant where only virgin vinyl was used. Distributed to radio, retail, press and more that day in 1979. Imagine the excitement, but nobody could foresee then what this album would mean to our culture.
The vinyl is NM, no noticeable marks, special white Epic label. The gatefold cover is totally intact, a little shelf wear, but no big creases or losses. A gold promotional stamp is on the rear top left. Inside the gatefold are song listings, credits, and lyrics. The inner sleeve is a generic white paper with no seam splits.
First solo album for Michael Jackson on Epic Records, and the first produced by Quincy Jones. The work was an earthquake that sent the cult of Michael Jackson to world wide renown. Over 20 million sold world wide and considered one of the best albums of all time. 4 singles reached the top 10 here, a first for a solo artist release.
