MICHAEL J. KENNEDY / Melodeon - "65 Years of Irish Music"
25 tracks of traditional Irish dance music played on melodeon. Mr. Kennedy, who was born in 1900, emigrated to the USA in 1923, and took his music with him. His style of playing, and indeed his repertoire of tunes, didn't seem to have changed much in the ensuing years, so that this particular recording gives a glimpse into how traditional Irish music was played in his native Co. Galway in the early years of the 20th century, for instance, the tunes are not arranged into sets - each one stands alone. This is a truly solo recording - no accompaniment at all.
The disc is in very good condition, despite being an ex-library copy. The sleeve is also in very good condition, but does have a couple of faint ink stamps on it. There is a "short history about the author" included as well.
