Description

THE MICHAEL GARRICK SEXTET WITH NORMA WINSTONE - " THE HEART IS A LOTUS ", Argo Record Company Ltd (ZDA 135) Stereo, 1970.

Very rare 1970, first UK Stereo pressing of the very rare Argo LP by Garrick featuring a stellar line-up of 60's Brit-Jazz players - Art Themen, Jim Philip, Don Rendell, Ian Carr, Dave Green, Coleridge Goode, Trevor Tomkins and Norma Winstone.

English issue and pressing.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).

In the name of a good auction, I will start this item at just 99p.

CONDITION:

VINYL =  EXCELLENT  (No scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, hardly any spindle trails, etc. Both in normal daylight and under a bright grading lamp, the vinyl appears perfectly clean. On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks and occasionally during some of the quieter/sparser sections of a couple of tracks on side 2... although this by no means ruins the record and in my opinion, it is in the original pressing rather than a result of wear or mis-treatment. Particularly as every other aspect of this LP suggests it has hardly ever been played. Otherwise, it plays strong and clean - free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, etc. Overall, although it is not quite mint, it's imperfections are very slight and would make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy it.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = EX- (No rips, tears, massive creases, defacing, etc. The front cover is in reasonable shape although it has some very light wear and a few small creases in the laminate, plus some slight delamination along the spine. The rear is not as white as it once was and suffering from a few grubby marks and sadly the previous owner has written his name on the bottom left corner - see photos for further clarification

NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.

ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!

HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!
