Description
Before bidding, please take the time to read about shipping costs at the end of this listing. Shipping for these records is not $4 to the USA.
Beautiful original EMI UK pressing, MGM CS 8108 (2YMG 291 - 1G / 2YMG 292 - 1G), the VU's eponymous third LP from 1969. Record NM, original innerbag EX, half laminated flipback G&L jacket has some minimal creasing at spine and tiny wear to tips, so a very picky EX. Record has been stored in new lined inner and will ship that way. Very hard to better, do not underestimate the scarcity of original copies in this condition. Sounds fantastic, EMI's pressing and vinyl quality so much better than the US. As VU collectors will know, the UK pressing was unique in several ways, most importantly because of the accidental use Val Valentin's original mixes instead of Lou's so-called 'closet mix' which was what the rest of the world heard until the mid-eighties when the VV mix was generally deemed the superior. Stupidly rare. For more info please check here: http://olivier.landemaine.free.fr/vu/discog/lps/uk/lpsuk.html

The purge of the collection continues..... .....more goodies tomorrow, heads up. This batch has something for all.
Check my other listings, my feedback, and bid with confidence. Any reserves are realistic. Good luck!
Regulars will know that I keep my descriptions brief and to the point. If you are looking, I figure you will know what you are looking at. I would not presume to condescend nor would I wish to bore you to death. Enjoy the pics and make the most of the enlargement facility!
All records checked on EMT 930/929/TSD15 and when necessary, cleaned on a Loricraft PRO 2.
GRADINGS:
MINT (M): Brand new and unplayed. Perfect, no indications of being handled or played. I only use this grading if I know for sure the record has not been played.
NEAR MINT (NM): The vinyl is virtually flawless, clean and shiny. Very minor, barely visible bag wear may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. Jacket is as close to perfect as possible.
EXCELLENT (EX), Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a non-sounding hairline mark or two but nothing that is obvious or affects play. Vinyl is clean and shiny. Minor disc impression or slight corner and or spine creases, no seam splits. Jacket is clean with little wear.
Because I have never collected records that are a lower grade than EX, you won’t be finding any for sale here.
Recorded Delivery world-wide shipping as always for security and peace of mind.
25 US Dollars for the USA, the Far East and Australia, 18 US Dollars for Europe, 9 US Dollars for the UK. Discounts for multiple purchases. Shipping is always at cost, including packing materials. I’m in the UK, so I obviously won’t be using USPS. Shipping will be calculated for each buyer and included in my invoice. There is NO flat rate.
I ensure that my records arrive with you in the same lovely condition they leave me. They are sandwiched between two 34 x 34 x 1.25 cm sheets of expanded polystyrene and securely packaged in sturdy professional custom made cruciform card wraps. I do not use bits of old cardboard box or those cheap flimsy envelope style mailers.
Records are always packed out of the jackets to avoid any splits.
I don’t like to say this, but if you cannot pay, please do not bid.
