From my personal collection, the 2-disc MFSL Limited Edition of Puccini's La Boheme, featuring Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Nicolai Chiaurov, Elizabeth Harwood, and Rolando Panerei, with Herbert Von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic.
This recording is in new condition, with the original shrink wrap still completely intact. It has been carefully stored throughout its life, and has never been exposed to extreme heat or cold. This is perhaps the finest example of this recording still available in the world.
This rare collectible is numbered #00885, which puts it in the first thousand of this limited edition. Audiophiles have praised this recording as one of the finest audio quality renditions of this classic opera. Pressed on super-quiet virgin vinyl, MFSL (Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs) produced the highest-quality LP's of the era, and this example is one of their few opera offerings.
