Description
This is my personal copy of this amazing vinyl Original Master Recording of John Mayall and the Blues Breakers featuring Eric Clapton. I bought it new way back when it came out and I babied it. Maybe a dozen plays on it. I never overplay my MFSL records (OK, maybe Aqualung got overplayed a little). The record is near mint and the sleeve is excellent. It was always stored in a plastic sleeve and retains its shiny cover. Just a little minor wear near the edges and corners (see photos). This is how Clapton should sound. He's such a clean and precise guitarist and to hear him on a clean and precise half-speed mastered high quality piece of vinyl is the ultimate experience. If you're new to the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab experience, here's a brief synopsis. MFSL licensed the rights to classic albums where they took the original master tape that the original record came from and slowed down the re-recording of this album by half to ensure they captured every sonic nuance that lay in the master tape. The master pressing plate created from this process was used to create all MFSL records, thus giving you the closest possible sonic experience to the original recording. Most normal records are pressed from a plate that was made several generations after the original recording, resulting in a generally lesser recording. The further away you get from the original, the more information is lost and more noise is introduced. MFSL did the best of the half-speed master recordings, hands down. Their records are as close as you'll get to being there with the band as it was recorded. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
