Up for auction is a copy of “Tea for the Tillerman” by the Cat Stevens pressed by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab on 200 gram virgin vinyl as part of the UHQR series.

“The development of the Ultra High Quality Record™ in '81 signified the growing importance of the collectors' market. Aimed at the high-end audiophile, the UHQR was unlike any other LP available in the marketplace. Pressed on specially formulated 200-gram virgin vinyl (known as "Super vinyl"), this superior quality analog phonograph record was limited to 5,000 pressings per title to ensure quality standards. Today, both OMR LPs and UHQRs continue to solicit higher and higher prices on the collectors' market.” – Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab

This record has been play tested all of the way through, playing cleanly and quietly.  This is an experience unlike any other.  Even the standard 90-110 gram pressing (MFSL 1-084) pales in comparison and the aluminum CD (MFCD 804) cannot match it.

The disc is in VG+ (just below Near Mint) condition.  The rice-paper sleeve, unique stiffener, foam, technical specifications manual and outer sleeve are all present; however the certificate of authenticity is not present.  There is some wear on the box.  There are a couple of split corners, which could be repaired and look decent, but I feel it is best to leave it alone.  Look at the pictures; I do not think you will be disappointed. 

The limited edition number of this rarity is 859.

The disc will be shipped via Priority Mail for $15.00 anywhere in the United States.  Please inquire for international rates.  It will be packaged with the LP separated from the sleeve to prevent splitting during transit.  This will all be placed in a poly sleeve and a corrugated cardboard box with internal stiffening to prevent damage.  Insurance is required and is included in the shipping charge.
