The Allman Brothers Band: Dickey Betts, Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Jai Johanny Johanson, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks. Recording information: Criteria Recording Studios, Miami, FL; Filmore East, New York, New York. Released shortly after the death of guitar legend Duane Allman, EAT A PEACH occupies an important transitional spot in the Allman Brothers' discography. The leading three tracks, recorded after Duane's death, point the way toward the band's future. While still rooted in the group's blues-jam roots, these songs show the Allmans angling closer to the melodic country style that was guitarist Dicky Betts's forte. Betts acquits himself well on the opening "Ain't Wastin' Time No More," deftly handling a slide-guitar part that cannot help but evoke the group's departed member. "Melissa" plays squarely to Betts's strengths, while "Les Brers in A Minor" recalls the extended jams of the AT THE FILLMORE EAST album. The next three tracks on EAT A PEACH are taken from the Fillmore shows. Each selection represents the Duane-era Allmans at their best, especially the blistering "Trouble No More." The sound quality on these tracks, however, does not compare well to the analogous tracks on THE FILLMORE CONCERTS, an expanded reissue of the classic live album. The final three tracks, studio sessions featuring Duane, hint at what PEACH might have been had Duane lived. ..................................

The MFSL analogue DOUBLE-LP/RECORD is brand new, perfect factory sealed, in perfect condition, complete and made in JAPAN = halfspeed mastered by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab with very high Eqipment from the original master/session tapes with the ortophon cutting system, the LP has never been opened. The Cover/Booklet includes the complete original artwork, linernotes and Photos from the ORIGINAL-LP. This LP comes with the original MFSL-Poly wrap and is factory sealed in mint condition. The original MFSL-Poly wrap is perfect factory sealed. There are none dents or cracks in the Cover, ..... none of seams are split or corners badly damaged. It is not a cut-out. (No saw marks or drill holes.) It is a completely original Japan-Pressing on the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, Inc (MFSL). This analogue DOUBLE LP is long out of print and is an extremely rare title. I have some particularly rare and out-of-print objects: many of my LP's and CD's are still sealed = FACTORY SEALED / OVP. I have verified and evaluated all used LP´s and CD´s according to the official collectors rating.
