THE METRONOME QUINTET Plays Swinging Mahagonny (Columbia SCZN 2001) Bruno Spoerri RARE Swiss 1st Pressing Signed MINT!
RARE original Swiss first pressing of The Metronome Quintet`s debut album "Plays Swinging Mahgonny (And Six Other Tunes)" on Columbia Records (1967). This copy of "Plays Swinging Mahagonny" was signed by band members Bruno Spoerri, Ueli Staub, Martin Hugelshofer and Felix Rogner!
"Legendary first Modern Jazz album by the Swiss Metronome Quintet, recorded in 1965 and 1967 in Zürich, with saxophonist Bruno Spoerri, pianist Martin Hugelshofer and vibraphonist Ueli Staub. This long-lost LP includes Spoerri`s unique jazz arrangements based on motifs of the music for The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny by Kurt Weill, together with some own tunes played in an exceptional style by one of the few European high-class ensembles of the era." - From a description of the CD reissue.
