Missouri-born guitarist Pat Metheny returns with a new group project that finds him sounding alert, grounded, and quietly curious. Formed with pianist Chris Fishman, drummer Joe Dyson, and bassist Jermaine Paul, the set leans into collective motion and provides Metheny space to respond. 'In On It' opens with a light touch, guitar lines drifting over a rhythm section that stays flexible and alert. 'Don't Look Down' sharpens the focus, its melody unfolding patiently, while 'Make A New World' stretches outward, letting harmony and pulse breathe together. Across the record, the playing values conversation over display. It's confident work from a musician still interested in where a band can take him next.
