MERCURY LIVING PRESENCE was a classical music record label launched in the 1950s. It became renown for its high quality recordings, known for their clarity, accuracy and lifelike sound quality. The recordings were produced using state of the art techniques for the time and set a new standard for classical music recordings that are still highly regarded by audiophiles today.
This limited edition numbered LP set *(this copy #1451 / 2000) features six outstanding recordings, justly famed for their exceptional artistic and sonic qualities, including:
LP1 Dorati. Respighi: Roman Festivals. Church Windows - recorded 1954 and originally released as MG50046. LP2 Dorati. Wienerwalzer Paprika - recorded 1958 and originally released as SR90190. LP3 Hanson. Bloch: Concerti Grossi Nos. 1 & 2 - recorded 1959 and originally released as SR90223. LP4 Paray. Franck: Symphony In D Minor - recorded 1959 and originally released as SR90285. LP5 Fennell: Ballet For Band - recorded 1959 and originally released as SR90256. LP6 Paray. Wagner: Overtures To "Rienzi" & "Der Fliegende Holländer". Excerpts From "Die Walküre" And "Die Meistersinger" recorded 1960 and originally released as SR90232.
LP 1 is high-resolution remastered from original mono tapes. LPs 2-6 use the Wilma Cozart Fine stereo masters from 1990's
