Hi! You're looking at an INCREDIBLY RARE record that is on the amazing MERCURY LIVING PRESENCE label, a favorite of audiophiles everywhere and perhaps the producers of the FINEST VINYL of the classic age of the LP!! The record is an ORIGINAL 35mm MAGNETIC FILM RECORDING and bears the serial number SR 90316--it uses the "Margin Control" Process, and the sound is truly breathtaking!! It's also in excellent, NEAR MINT- condition!! This record is titled "Vienna 1908-1914" and features some of the most avant-garde and daring music of the early 20th Century as performed by ANTAL DORATI and the London Symphony Orchestra. The selections here include the "Five Pieces for Orchestra", Opus 16, of ARNOLD SCHOENBERG; "Five Pieces for Orchestra", Opus 10, by ANTON WEBERN; and "Three Pieces for Orchestra", Opus 6, by ALBAN BERG. Dorati's performances of this progressive and forward-looking are amazing, and this is an ESSENTIAL LP--a fantastically RARE and difficult to find item from Mercury Living Presence!!
This record is in excellent condition--the vinyl is in strong NEAR MINT- condition with just a couple of very light factory scuffs that should not affect play--it looks fantastic! The cover also looks very nice and is NEAR MINT-, with some light shelfwear, sticker residue along the lower left hand corner, some wear around the edges, and a 1 3/4 inch clean split along the upper opening edge. A really nice copy of a scarce record!
