Originally released in 1985 and celebrating its 40th anniversary, Killing Is My Business...and Business Is Good! Would mark the debut album from Los Angeles thrash metal legends Megadeth, who mightn't have ever been cast into existence if it not for the firing of primary songwriter and all-around mastermind Dave Mustaine from yet another of the thrash 'Big Four' - Metallica. Citing issues with alcohol (amongst other substances) and personality clashes with both James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, their decision to give Mustaine the boot would lead to the guitarist pining for sweet revenge, channelling his rage and resentment into a project all of his own design. Aiming to "straighten Metallica up", Mustaine would take the song 'Mechanix' with him, as his former bandmates had slowed down the material to reimagine it as the Kill 'Em All cut 'The Four Horsemen', whereas Mustaine sped up the composition to outshine his "enemies". Opting to take over vocal duties after failing to secure any vocalists Mustaine was happy with, this would herald the dawn of his iconic nasal snarl. Known for its controversial rendition of the 1965 Lee Hazlewood/Nancy Sinatra classic 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin'', while legend tells of the band firing their producer midway through recording due to a budgetary concerns after a hefty portion had been blown on alcohol, drugs and food, this iconic debut may pale in comparison to their later genre-defining staples such as Peace Sells...but Who's Buying? or Rust In Peace, but still serves as an integral blueprint for the burgeoning thrash metal scene of the 80's. Complete with new artwork, which finally sees Mustaine's original vision fully realized as an actual sculpture, to an entirely new remix courtesy of Mark Lewis (Trivium, Devil Driver, Whitechapel), this anniversary edition comes complete with an introduction by Mustaine, as well as live renditions and the original 1984 'Skull Beneath The Skin' demo.
