                                                DESCRIPTION

ARTIST:                                THE BEATLES

TITLE:                             “MEET THE BEATLES”

PRESSING:              1968 Second Capitol “Black Rainbow” Pressing STEREO LP of The Beatles debut album!

CATALOG #:           CAPITOL  ST 2047

LABELS:                   Super clean “Black Colorband” labels with “A Subsidiary of Capitol Industries Inc” added in the border.

Comments:                Extremely RARE vinyl LP to locate in pristine condition.

CONDITION  ( Please refer to Grading Standards below)

COVER:                    NrMT-

Comments:                Extremely clean “pastedown” cover with “BEATLES” in Brown displays sharp vivid colors with No ring wear on the front side, No marks or writing, No seam splits, No creases, and No cut out marks, discount holes or bar codes. The back of the cover has ever so light ring wear and slight aging of the white borders (see photograph), but still very nice.

VINYL:                      Side 1  NrMT+   Side 2  NrMT

Comments:                Full original gloss “Thick” vinyl with virtually no flaws, just a tiny rub on side 2 seen under bright light from sliding in and out of the original inner sleeve. The LP plays beautifully throughout the entire recording! Probably played just a few times, doesn’t get much better than this for an original 46 year-old vinyl LP.

INNER SLEEVE:    Original and correct “Burnt Orange” CAPITOL inner sleeve used by the company at the time of release (1968) of this LP. The inner sleeve is in NrMT/MT condition with No seam splits, which is unheard of for a nearly 50 year-old sleeve to this popular album.

Comments:                “Subsidiary of Capitol” thick vinyl pressings of this highly sought after Stereo LP, are extremely difficult to locate in highly collectible condition! LP features several early Beatles classic songs including “I Want To Hold Your Hand”, “I Saw Her Standing There”, “This Boy”, “All My Loving”, and “I Wanna Be Your Man”.

I am very conservative with my grading.  There is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE for multiple LPs won in the same auction cycle.  Payment is due within 72 hours of the end of the auction.  e-mail if you have any questions prior to placing a bid.  All of my LPs come with a protective poly album sleeve and will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard LP mailer, tightly wrapped in bubble wrap for added protection.
