Description
* Offered for NO RESERVE is a FIRST STEREO PRESSING of "MEET THE BEATLES," CAPITOL ST2047, released January 20, 1964 with NO BMI or ASCAP music publishing credits on the vinyl labels.
* Please inspect all photos below.
* According to the latest Perry Cox Guide to "The Beatles' American Records" - this first STEREO pressing of "Meet the Beatles" (CAP 2047.SR1A) - with NO publishing credits on the vinyl labels - is the rarest version with a rated value of $375 to $1,500 in VG to NM condition.
* This album was play-tested completely on a Sony turntable and has giant full-bodied STEREO sound and NO SKIPS.
* The ALBUM JACKET is sturdy and grades VG+++ to NM-, with NO rubbing, NO color loss on the cover - and NO split seams. It has NO George Martin producing credit on the lower left corner of the back cover. It has the proper RIAA #3 (Scranton) marker on the lower right corner of the back cover associated with this first pressing STEREO vinyl. There is a small edge fracture on the lowest portion of the spine, but NO splitting and NO paper loss.
* The VINYL VISUALLY grades from VG to VG++ with superficial lines and scuff marks but with full gloss still present. It PLAYS VG to VG++ with crackles and surface noise - but it DOES NOT SKIP. The matrix numbers in the dead wax on side 1 are ST-1-2047-B2, and ST-2-2047-B2 on side 2.
* The VINYL LABELS are VG+++ to NM.
* The ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE INNER PAPER SLEEVE associated with this pressing - according to Bruce Spizer's book, "The Beatles Story on Capitol Records - The Albums" - is dark royal blue (and not the more common light royal blue sleeve issued after February 1964) - and is graded VG to VG+ as issued by Capitol on January 20, 1964. This paper sleeve would be graded higher but has split seams that have been expertly repaired with acid-free invisible tape - (and NOT with old cellophane tape that turns yellow and leaves stains over time).
* HOW THIS ITEM WILL BE SHIPPED: To protect all components of this rare set, they will be sent separately in one package, e.g., the vinyl will be in a generic protective paper cover OUTSIDE of the album jacket to prevent splitting in transit. The ORIGINAL royal blue paper sleeve will also shipped OUTSIDE of the jacket. This set will further be shipped in double-protective cardboard to prevent moisture, punctures, bumps, bends or other potential damage in transit. Although slow Media Mail is available, because of the rarity of this item, PRIORITY MAIL SHIPPING is recommended to minimize time in transit.
