Description
Up for auction is a mono copy of Meet The Beatles! in shrink wrap. This album was manufactured on the East Coast at the Scranton, PA record plant as indicated by the #3 on the back cover, lower right corner. The lettering for BEATLES! is the tan or brown color and there is no George Martin production credit on the back cover.
This is the fourth label variation for the mono pressings: the 1st and 3rd songs on Side Two credited to ASCAP and the other 4 songs on Side Two and all songs on Side One credited to BMI. This label change was approved by Capitol Records on March 7, 1966. The label printing also indicates that they are East Coast labels.
The orange-colored inner sleeve dust jacket was issued by Capitol records in early 1966....it's the East Coast Sleeve and is numbered PE 12-FS, which indicated Scranton, PA.
The condition of the album package is excellent! The shrink wrap is still tight and clean on all three sides. There is some slight aging shown on the back cardboard near the opening, perhaps due to sunlight exposure. There is a small price sticker attached on the back upper right corner from the E.J. Korvette department store. Condition of the vinyl is pristine, I would rate it as M- as there are no scratches or scuffs and it looks like it was never played. The vinyl labels look glossy, bright and clean! The paper sleeve in in very good condition with no splits or tears with some normal creasing due to handling.
