Only active for a brief stint in the early 80s during the first pioneering wave of hardcore punk, Mecht Mensch (Mechanical Man) delivered a caustic, calculated and truly abrasive vision lightyears ahead of many of their underground contemporaries. With only the much adored Acceptance EP to their credit, this Anthology compilation finally reissues the release in its original form, along with their demo, split with brother-band The Tar Babies, their compilation contributions including 'Killer Klowns' and 'What D'Ya Feel', both originally featured on Master Tape Volume 2, as well as a live session captured in 1982. Raw, jagged and vehemently pissed off, this material was almost too pissed off for its time, while guitarist Dan Bitney can still be found nowadays providing percussion to post-rock mainstays Tortoise.
