MC5--Back In The USA--Atlantic 8247, white label promo, MONO. Ultra-rare, original MONO white label promo from 1970. Occasionally, a stereo white label promo copy of this record surfaces, but this is the only MONO pressing I've seen of this release in over 40+ years of serious collecting. Side One deadwax has the following etched: GM East Det, Milan, AT, A-13183-C, and A 17696 A1-3-1 which is crossed out. Side Two deadwax has the following etched: GM East Det, Milan, AT, A 13184-A, and C-B MONO. Vinyl is a very strong VG with high gloss, just some scattered light scratches. Labels have what appears to be very light single smudge prints on each side, otherwise very clean. The cover is G+. The front cover has ringwear and water and mildew stains on the right side. The promotional company DJ / MONO sticker is very legible with just light soiling. The back cover slick has ringwear and chipping to the top and bottom of the slick. Surprisingly, the spine and seams are pretty solid with all print on the spine easily readable. The old Mono pressings from the late 60s and early 70s are quite collectable and this one is very obscure! Record was originally released January 1970 by this legendary Lincoln Park, Michigan band.
