PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED BEAUTIFUL COPY

This song Kick Out The Jams is notorious for the line, “Kick out the jams, motherf–kers,” shouted by lead singer Rob Tyner before the music kicks in. This line appears on this uncensored original version of the album; a clean version where it is replaced with, “Kick out the jams, brothers and sisters,” was used on the single and later made available on censored versions of the album. But this is the real thing!
Detroit’s Motor City 5 were a force of nature. An explosive collision of high-energy rock’n’roll, psychedelically inclined free jazz, radical left-wing politics, soul-driven R&B showband steps, acid-expanded consciousness and revolution-sparking raw power.  But what's the story about that mother..shout? Wayne Kramer explains;   “In the blink of an eye.” says Kramer. “We knew ‘Kick out the jams,   motherfucker’was  never going to get played on the radio, so we recorded a ‘Kick out the jams, brothers and sisters’ version for the single. We instructed Elektra to wait until it peaked in the chart before releasing the album. Because when the album’s released the shit’s gonna hit the fan, but we’ll have won already by having a hit single. Well, once they saw the single taking off they rushed the album out. And when kids came home with this record and mom and dad heard ‘motherfucker’, you could hear the outrage reverberate across America. “Elektra asked us, could they put out a clean version of the album. We said no and they did it anyway. We’d already had a major disruption in our relationship, and then, because our contract said we had control of our advertising, and a local store refused to carry our records and we called them on it in very graphic street language and sent Elektra the bill [Detroit’s Hudson’s department store refused to stock MC5 product so the band ran a full page ad in a local underground paper that read simply ‘Fuck Hudson’s’ and included, without permission, Elektra’s logo]. That was the final straw and Elektra fired us.” (CLASSIC ROCK)

Some incredible songs on this 1967 album from composer Reid King who married the Brazilian sound with
popular music of that era to produce an album that should have really taken off then, but due to the strange
setup of Canterbury Records who were in business to lose money for a Mattel tax shelter, the album was allowed
to die on the vine by Canterbury when it started to take off with airplay and sales.  Reid King went on to become
one of the foremost composers of contemporary music for the gut-string guitar.

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY.

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

 RECOMMENDED!

FULLY GUARANTEED!
