Description
TOOTS & THE MAYTALS : Never Grow Old
The Maytals' debut album, recorded in 1962 and 1963. Like all of the major Jamaican bands of the time, the Maytals were performing ska during this era, and doing a very good job of it.
Produced by C.S. Dodd (who co-wrote most of the songs with Toots Hibbert), and featuring the Skatalites on backup.
Included in Mojo's 50 Greatest Reggae Albums - "...Wonderfully exuberant harmonies..."
The Maytals: Fredereick "Toots" Hibbert, Henry "Raleigh" Gordon, Nathaniel "Jerry" McCarthy.
The Skatalites: : Jerry Haines, Ernest Ranglin (guitar); Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso (saxophone); Jackie Mittoo (piano); Lloyd Brevette (bass); Lloyd Knibbs (drums).
Studio 1 Records (JBL1113). In excellent condition.
