Description
Record is in EX condition—one of the best sounding deep groove mono pressings I've ever heard! Some light surface scratches that are not audible during play. Some surface noise in between tracks.
Sleeve is VG++ with no split seams and just some shelf wear and bumped corners.
A VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE RECORD!
All of the records I sell have been professionally cleaned and re-sleeved.
All records are Goldmine graded (see attached image) and play graded using original Shure V15 type cartridges and stylus.
All records sold will be very well packed with heavy cardboard and bubble wrap and mailed in a record mailer made of heavy cardboard.
This is a fantastic Max Roach album. With trumpeter Richard Williams, tenor saxophonist Clifford Jordan, trombonist Julian Priester, pianist Mal Waldron, and bassist Art Davis joined by a vocal choir conducted by Coleridge Perkinson and orchestrated by Roach with Abbey Lincoln guest staring on 'Lonesome Lover'. It's a hauntingly beautiful album and all the tracks were written by Roach, he must have been having some out of body other worldly episode to write and arrange the choir and each track of music. I disagree with some who wish the choir would not be involved, its because of this addition of the choir which makes this Max Roach album so brilliant and unique, and Julian Priester and Clifford Jordan are standouts as well.
