MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Capitol Records very first High Fidelity Mono press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1968 by Industrias Eléctricas y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), licensed from Capitol Records Inc., USA, catalog number CAP 7-134, with machine etched matrix numbers 7CAP-F-2547 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side A and 7CAP F 2548 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side B, with white/blue Capitol Records labels and 4-prong push-out center. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Matt Monro!!!

“The Music Played” was originally released in UK in May 1968 and the same year we got this single released here in Chile. This song was also released in Spanish for Spain and Latin America markets but with “One Day Soon”, also sung in Spanish (in original UK Issue the song in Side B is “All That Remains”). Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and Spanish lyricist and additional information about licenses and “title” at bottom edge of both labels. It’s interesting to notice that even though it’s not credited, the original UK issue was produced by George Martin, but the Spanish version is produced by William Tallant. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of this single with Spanish-written titles and sung in Spanish, a record almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time. And WHAT A GREAT CONDITION!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This single doesn’t come with a cover. The record is in nice EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only light scuffs and some very soft hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in NM- or NM condition both sides, clear and clean, with not even minimal spindle hole wear, only a faint factory issue in Side A. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (background noise was normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some occasional light clicks here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE record with original WHITE CAPITOL RECORDS LABELS, Spanish-written song titles and BOTH SONGS SUNG IN SPANISH still in great condition, with a nice look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 55 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the level of rarity of this Chilean single, a record rarely seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND AGAIN!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP18 for weight until 0,5kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP25 for weight 0,5-1kg (usually 2 to 5 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl/sleeve)

GBP12 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
