Description

  MASTODON
" Slick Leg "
Reptilian Records

Our record label, Reptilian Records, released the 1st MASTODON
ever! That's right, kids. When no one else was jumping at the chance to put out music by these talented, nice chaps, we said "Tally Ho, gents! Might we press that for you?", and we did.

  7" picture disc vinyl EP.
THIS IS A COPY OF THE FIRST PRESSING.

Beautiful VERY OUT OF PRINT collectible rarity.

UNPLAYED limited edition out-of-print sought-after-by-record-collectors-everywhere vinyl goodness.
Let me make this clear, dear person.
There were three pressings of their debut release.
They are all VERY sold out and VERY out of print.
The first pressing is rarely seen anymore.
There is another copy on eBay right now, starting at well over $100.
We're starting this one much lower.

UNPLAYED. Near mint vinyl. Near mint insert.

Their first release.
Songs exclusive to this little piece of vinyl.
You can tell the first pressings, because on the back, under the catalog number, there is either NOTHING (like on this one)
or it says 2nd or 3rd pressing.

The record displayed is being held carefully by the center hole and label area. No one ever touches vinyl grooves around here.
And we don't lay things down on surfaces. We're very careful about what you're potentially buying!

Mastodon is a Grammy-nominated heavy metal band and are one of the most notable bands in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. They formed in 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia by Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, Troy Sanders, Brent Hinds and original vocalist Eric Saner. They have released four full-length albums and have toured worldwide, achieving increased album sales and an ever expanding fan base with each new release.

Mastodon was formed in late 1999 when drummer Brann Dailor and guitarist Bill Kelliher moved to Atlanta and met bassist/singer Troy Sanders and guitarist/singer Brent Hinds at a High on Fire show. They discovered they had a mutual appreciation of sludge metal bands Melvins and Neurosis and '70s hard-rockers Thin Lizzy, and shortly thereafter formed Mastodon.

They recorded a demo in 2000, which featured the band's first lead singer, Eric Saner on vocals.Saner left the band for personal reasons after just a couple of months. After recording a four song demo and a 7-inch picture disc through Reptilian Records, Mastodon landed a record deal with Relapse Records in 2001. They released an EP, Lifesblood in 2001 and their first full-length album, Remission, was released in 2002, with the single "March of the Fire Ants." (which also featured on Tony Hawk's Underground) On the first three of Mastodon's full-length albums, the last track of each relates to the Elephant Man.

We will ship ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.  $3 US  $5 Canada $8 overseas
EVEN IF YOU BUY UP TO 4 (FOUR) SEPARATE 7" RECORDS,POSTAGE STAYS THE SAME, WHEREVER YOU ARE!

See the photo(s).  Sorry about my hand in the shots, (if it is), but I try to NEVER LAY THE VINYL DOWN ON ANYTHING, unlike lots of sellers, who FREAKIN' lay records down on tables and things to photograph them!  We give them all the very clean hand or WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT, as you see in the photos, and take the pics with someone holding the vinyl in the air, never touching it, pulling it carefully from its sleeve.  Whatever we sell you is going to be in the best shape possible. We're all collectors and know that other collectors appreciate the extra mile.

This is a vinyl record, NOT A CD.  You play it on a turntable.  That's an arcane device that spins plastic around and around at a constant speed and a diamond on the end of a stick scrapes at it and makes noise that you hopefully enjoy.

ORDERS OVERSEAS, ESPECIALLY TO EUROPE (AND ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY GERMANY) ARE SOMETIMES TAKING A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME.  SOME VINYL IS TAKING UP TO A MONTH TO ARRIVE.  IF YOU CAN TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT AS A POSSIBILITY, GO AHEAD AND BID.  IF, ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU ARE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY AND ARE NOT PREPARED TO WAIT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, PLEASE DO NOT BID. And I don't mean that in an angry way, I mean it in a "we keep getting people in Germany and other countries overseas sending us angry letters 2 weeks after the auction ends, or starting a dispute over a record that is simply slow in reaching them because of the international overseas mail service.  So what I'm saying is this: if you're not feeling patient, please don't take it out on us if the record doesn't arrive quickly. We'll gladly take out insurance, or give you a tracking number, or whatever you want if you feel like paying extra to ensure that your record doesn't get lost. But if you just pay the basic postage and your record doesn't get there for 4 weeks, don't shoot the messenger.
