Description
Mary Hopkin - 'Postcard'. APCOR 5
Mary Hopkin 1969 UK 1st MONO Apple pressing of the 'Postcard' LP. Released on the 21st February 1969, this was Mary Hopkin's debut LP on the Beatles Apple label. It was produced by Paul McCartney, with many of the tracks being written by the likes of Donovan, Nilsson and George Martin.
Released on the dark 'Apple Records' label both side features the 'Sold in the UK....' text. This copy also features the earliest matrix numbers for this release ending in 1/1 and some early stamper codes 1 L and 4 GO respectively. By the late 1960's virtually all LP's were released in stereo format. This LP is the much rarer MONO version. This was in fact one of the last Apple LP's to be released with a mono version. 'Abbey Road' released just a few months later was only issued in stereo.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1: APCOR 5A-1 1 L
Side 2: APCOR 5B-1 4 GO
