This wonderful, moody, minor-key album, a collection of classic torch songs as sung by the ultimate torch crooner is Marvin’s equivalent of classic torch song masterpieces, such as Frank Sinatra’s “In the wee small hours”, Jimmy Scott’s “Fallng in love is wonderful” or Billie Holiday’s “Lady in Satin”. You have not lived until you’ve heard Marvin Gaye croon his way through Billie Holiday’s classic "When Your Lover has gone" and 10 other classic torch ballads. Music for the late night and early morning hours. Unfortunately, the album has been unavailable in any format for many years.

(a)            WE GRADE THE VINYL AS NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(c)             The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            This is a deep groove pressing

(e)             Stereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist (except on compact disc).

(f)              Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
