Here's a RARE HANDSIGNED / AUTOGRAPHED copy of the second MOTOWN LP ever "TWISTIN THE WORLD AROUND WITH THE TWISTIN'KINGS" MOTOWN LP 601 FROM 1960! What makes this particular copy very interesting is the fact, that it has been AUTOGRAPHED on the back by several important Motown artists. Namely MARVIN GAYE ("Yours"), his singing partner KIM WESTON, TEMPTATIONS members EDDIE KENDRICK, MELVIN FRANKLIN and (possibly?) DAVID RUFFIN (I am not sure about this one), plus FUNK BROTHERS percussionist EDDIE BONGO.
Condition is VG for both cover and record, the signatures are clear (written in blue biro) and the back cover has a "Demonstration copy not for sale" stamp.
The “Twistin’ Kings” were in fact the Motown house band, the legendary Funk Brothers. They’d hastily recorded an entire LP of Twist music, rush-released as Twistin’ The World Around with the Twistin’ Kings just in time for Christmas, but it was a saturated market and Motown’s “me-too” effort had failed to find favour.
