MARVIN GAYE - "Can I Get A Witness"
EMIDISC Acetate - UK - 1963 / 64
Extremely rare UK EMIDISC acetate of the classic Marvin Gaye tune. Most likely a publisher's copy, based on where it came from originally. The Emidisc label looks ancient, and the acetate is in a plain white sleeve.
Condition is not brilliant, but to be honest I have heard far worse from 1960's acetates. G to G+ at best I'd say. It plays through ok with no jumps or skips. There is some surface noise which is par for the course but being an Emidisc acetate it may be possible to clean this one up and grade it higher. See photos for details.
Although the condition is not super clean, there's no doubting its rarity. Finding an early 1960's Marvin Gaye acetate in any condition is rare indeed and I'm offering it strictly as a collectors item. Serious Tamla Motown / UK Stateside / soul collectors will know how scarce this one is...
