Description

Artist:  THE MARTY PAICH QUARTET

Title:   “The Marty Paich Quartet featuring Art Pepper”

Label:   TAMPA RECORDS ~ TP-28.  Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl, with deep groove.  Labels are pink with black text.

Year:  1957

Personnel:

Marty Paich - piano

Art Pepper – alto sax

Buddy Clark – bass

Frank Capp - drums.

Condition:

DISC:  EXCELLENT / VG++ with full original gloss.  Has been played a small number of times and handled with care.  There are several faint marks that produce very soft tics in a couple places, but no loud clicks or pops.  Plays very enjoyably with clean, crisp fidelity.  Labels are clean and pristine.  A very fine playing copy.

JACKET:   Jacket is strong VG++ with no major issues.   Front artwork is clean and bright (there is a light pencil notation of some numbers at upper right – I did not attempt to erase).  Seams are intact except for small splits at the top opening corner (approx 1”) and the bottom opening corner (approx 2”).   Reverse is very clean and nice.  No writing or stickers, displays beautifully.

PLANNING A VISIT TO THE BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON AREA?

If so, please consider a visit to my booth (Booth 002, down stairs) at the ANTIQUE DEPOT antique mall in historic ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND (3720 Maryland Avenue, just off Main Street at the north end of town – open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving) for some excellent bargain-priced LPs and 45’s.

Also, I regularly set up at the monthly ARBUTUS RECORD & TAPE EXPO at the Arbutus Fire Hall on Southwestern Boulevard, Baltimore ~ usually held on the 3rd Sunday – but it’s always good to check and confirm).  If you let me know ahead of time of your interests, I will do my best to bring a few extra goodies for your consideration.

Thank you for viewing my auction, and good luck with your bids!
