MARTHA and The VANDELLAS  Heat Wave  Original, early GORDY 907 pressing with that "deep groove" label,  and the "IT'S WHAT'S IN THE GROOVES THAT COUNTS" logo design.  OK, we admit that we cheated a bit in our eBay title: Side one looks VG++ / "Excellent", downgraded from an otherwise "near-mint" appearance,  due to some very faint cosmetic surface scuffing on the middle of track 4,  across track 5, and it ends during the beginning of the 6th track. We did spot-check the sound quality and it's SUPERB.  The cosmetic issue is not audible. Side 2 looks Near-Mint.  All the spot-checked portions, and the intros, are all quiet.  The sound is very clean with excellent presence.  The highs are crisp and the bass is tight. The dead-wax machine-stamped matrix numbers on both sides have a 1-F suffix. There are a couple of faint spindle marks around each side's label hole:  it looks like the record was carefully played once or twice and the vinyl still has that shiny lustre,  so the previous owner did not use a worn stylus,  and we did not play the vinyl other than to spot-check the sound quality...  but we sure were tempted!!! THIS is the quality of pressing that makes you a believer in the  superiority of well-mastered ANALOGUE sound! The original Tamla / Gordy / Motown inner-sleeve is included...  it's torn in one corner and has some creases,  but it's in pretty decent shape considering the age of this piece. The Jacket is in EXCELLENT shape,  still in the open shrinwrap at the time of this listing  and description. There are no promo-holes or notches or corner-cuts. The corners have some minor bumping,  but no wear except for a tiny bit of abrasion on the lower-right corner. Spine and seams are intact!
