1970 UK TRANSATLANTIC TRA-213 (EARLY PRESS A1 - B1)
+ MEGA RARE 7 PAGE 'MARSUPILAMI' PRESS RELEASE BOOKLET.
In my opinion this is one of the best UK progressive rock albums to be released, no other band sound like MARSUPILAMI, they released just two superb complex prog rock albums in 1970 and 1971 and they are both very rare and sought after by fans of progressive rock and psych rock music, it's very hard to chose which is their best album as this debut and their second 'ARENA' are both fantastic LP's containing superb long tracks with loads of seering lead guitar breaks and some excellent doomy organ and flute passages, the lyrics and vocals are simply amazing and also sound like nothing else of the time, this is just an amazing listening experience for the prog rock fan.
The thick early press vinyl is excellent with just a few light wispy marks/scuffs and hairlines and both sides play excellent with just tiny amounts of light background noise and just the odd tic, The fragile fully textured single card sleeve is also in great condition with some edge/spine wear and few other minor imperfections, it's very difficult to find this textured cover without some storage wear of some kind so this sleeve is still very nice indeed. Both labels are very clean and bright and free of defects and the poly-lined inner sleeve is in excellent condition.
Also included with the superb UK prog rock album is a excellent+ condition super-rare original TRANSATLANTIC records 7 page press release booklet, this booklet would now be impossible to track down as only a few would have been printed and almost all would have been lost or destroyed over the past 37 years, the booklet contains pictures and a brief band history and also a small written piece on each band member, a very rare and very interesting A4 stapled press release booklet that would just be very near impossible to find today.
This brilliant UK progressive rock album very rarely surfaces for sale in nice condition and this great copy on offer here has the superb added bonus of having a original Transatlantic MARSUPILAMI press release booklet in excellent clean defect free condition.
