Misplaced Childhood A1 / B2

This breakthrough LP is in stunning condition as detailed below.  I do not think I have heard a better A1/B2 pressing ever.  One word, wow!

Visual grading

This vinyl has been superbly looked after.  There are barely any hairlines and under a bright light it is visually stunning.  There is only light spindle wear on each side suggesting it has only been sparingly played and the immaculate audio confirms that.  The vinyl is still contained within its original black inner.

Play grading  

'Pseudo Silk Kimono' plays with high quality audio with only a few light dust ticks.  Both 'Kayleigh' and 'Lavender' play with absolute perfection, totally Mint.  The 'Bitter Suite' symphony also has impeccable audio.  It has been a long time since I heard audio as good as this on a first pressing.  Even on a new vinyl you expect a few dust ticks but apart from on '...Kimono' there are barely any across the whole side.  The quiet sections during 'Bitter Suite' play with no interference at all, quality audio at its very best.  'Heart of Lothian' ends Side One with Mint audio once more.

'Waterhole' has light crackle for a few seconds and then plays as per Side One.  There is no need to individually grade each track as the quality is just sublime throughout.  The odd light dust tick but again the clarity and lack of background noise is just so rare.  The dark 'Perimeter Walk' section on 'Blind Curve' is another prime example where a very quiet piece plays with precision and no interference.  The remainder of the side plays with equal quality.  'Childhood's End' a favourite of many is stunning.   

This is a genuine archive copy and will not disappoint the true audiophile.  I have heard many first pressings in my time but this is up there with the best without doubt.

Gatefold cover

The gatefold has been very well looked after with only minor shelf wear.  The top edge and spine are extremely clean and only the bottom edge has a minimal amount of rubbing as do the corners.  The opening edge has a little handling wear but most sellers would not even mention it!  The inside of the gatefold is in superlative condition as is the back cover.  It also includes the original A4 sized mail order form from where you could purchase 'Misplaced Childhood' clothing!

Labels

Both labels are in great shape with only a small amount of spindle wear, no marks or writing.
