This is Marc Ellington's LP "Restoration" released in the UK on Philips Records in 1973, catalogue number 6308 143. The line-up includes many members from Fairport Convention. I also have a sealed copy of "Rains/reins of change" on Ebay currently that also feature many menbers from Fairport Convention.

  VISUAL: All grades are 100 % guaranteed – no one has EVER asked to return a record to me. Buying more than 200 records on the internet, I have agreed with the grading only around 10 times! I think this is because most sellers use inadequate lightning. As a seller once said: Everything looks near mint in the dark. There are only two sources of light I have ever tried that are any good for grading records: 1)      Direct, bright sunlight from an unclouded sky. It's the most powerful light source in this world. Why not use it? "Discreet sunlight" is absolutely no good. I've looked at records outside on a cloudy day that looked nothing short of immaculate, and then revealed loads of scratches under just a poor light bulb. 2)      Halogen spot lights G10, at least 50 watt. These should only be used in the evening to avoid diffusing from other light sources. See picture. These two light sources will reveal EVERY scuff and scratch no matter how small or insignificant they may be. Regular room lightning or neon lights (which seem to be the standard at record fairs) reveal practically nothing. Under halogen spots I can see a fair amount of sleeve marks. There are no deep scratches! Side 2 is slightly better than side 1, although I still find both sides to be very desirable and definitely a keeper. I will say VG+ on Record Collector's grading scale (Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, Bad) for side 2 and VG to VG(+) for side 1. Although not perfect, still a very nice record indeed! Check the sound clip for the audio quality. Some people seem to think that a VG record, or even a VG+ record, should be covered in deep scratches and have heavy noise through all the tracks. I grade such a record as Fair (and I have come across several records that were graded VG- or VG that I would only grade as Fair). This record is not trashed! SOUND CLIP: I have uploaded a recording from the actual record for sale. The clip was recorded with a Thorens TD-126 MkIII Centennial record player fitted with an Ortofon MC20 Super MkII needle. If you have less sensitive equipment, you will hear less noise. I have picked out both soft and loud passages to get a feel for each. You will also get the run-in groove on both sides (you'll hear the needle drop) and some parts between songs, so it gives a full description of the record. If you hear a song fading up and then shortly afterwards fading down, then the fade out is not done by me, but is from the record, so you could hear the space between the songs.       COVER: The cover is very nice indeed! As the pictures show, there is a bit of light lifting in the lamination by the spine and the opening, some slight residue from a sticker by the Philips logo on the front, and there is also some very light general wear on the cover (including a few knicks by the opening), but overall very nice. I will say EX- on Record Collector's scale. If it hadn't been for the lamination flaws, I would have graded it EX.   POSTAGE COSTS: NO FEES and NO charges for materials! ONLY actual charges.
