SLEEVE NOTES

THE UPSETTERS, the group of Musicians and singers who in their native JAMAICA have been known to appear individually both on records and for stage work, in various groups -- THE HIPPY BOYS, THE GAY BOYS, THE UPSETTERS, PAMA ALL STARS, UNITY ALL STARS, BUNNY LEE'S ALL STARS, LLOYD CHARMERS BAND, ETC. They have made many, many hits in Reggae form under their various groups and have been known to score high in the British Charts under the name of THE UPSETTERS with a tune entitled "RETURN OF DJANGO".

Harry Palmer went to Jamaica in August 1969, and whilst there took the opportunity (with the consent of their previous producers -- Lee Perry, Bunny Lee, Lloyd Charmers, Ronnie Williams), to produce a brand new album under the title "Many Moods Of the Upsetters". He has featured on the cover the man whom they all nicknamed "Upsetter" Mr. Lee Perry in the company of some very delicious looking girls and also showing the organist from the Upsetters, Mr Glen Adams himself, shaking hands with the Upsetter whilst he lay on top of his suped up motor car. All the pictures were taken at 4.30 - 5.30 on a Sunday morning when Harry was awakened from his hotel bedroom and sped at 80 miles per hour along the sea coast to witness the lovely sceneries of Jamaica at so early in the morning. Needless to say The Upsetter was the one who woke him up by tempting him with the "Beauties in Bikinies".

Sure The Upsetters sing as well as they play and they have done themselves proud on this album. Great arrangements and great productions when an English Promoter Harry Palmer, met up with the real Jamaican thing in the form of Reggae, The Upsetters and Lee Perry, Bunny Lee Lloyd Charmers, Glen Adams, Ronnie Williams, Alva Lewis, Aston Barrett (family man), Carlton Barrett and a slick studio owner and engineer Randy Chin of North Parade, and man what a session they had, the end of product of which can be heard from this album, "Many Moods".

So it's Reggae, Reggae all the way with the Pama/Punch productions and the wonderful, fantastic, incredible, marvellous, "UPSETTERS".

Get going then boys and here you shall have your very first Chart Busting L.P., THE UPSETTERS.                                                                              Donald Lee

RECORD CONDITION : NEAR MINT with no spindle marks. There is a tiny pressing fault in the form of a pimple on the 'Games People Play' track but this was not audible when played on our equipment. This album was played just a couple of times when first purchased and has been stored away ever since, hence the remarkable condition it is offered here.

SLEEVE CONDITION : This gloss sleeve shows just the faintest of handling wear and can safely be desribed as NEAR MINT.The back unlaminated cover is as white and bright as new. All four corners are sharp. GREAT COVER PICTURES ....READ SLEEVE NOTES ABOVE !
