GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : grande musica completamente basata su funk, jazz e ritmi Africani. Manu Dibango non solo compone questa straordinaria partitura per film ma dimostra anche tutto il suo immenso talento come sassofonista, pianista e vibrafonista. I principali strumenti utilizzati sono le tastiere, la chitarra, il basso, batteria e percussioni, sassofono, tromba e vibrafono. I ritmi sono per lo più sostenuti con poche tracce dall'andamento moderatamente lento. Tutti i brani meriterebbero di essere menzionati ma, immaginando che la maggior parte dei collezionisti già possa conoscere questa colonna sonora in considerazione anche della sua recente ristampa in vinile fatta dalla medesima casa discografica, riconoscibile facilmente dall'originale per la presenza della banda magnetica nella parte inferiore destra del retro copertina, mi limiterò a sottolinearne tre soltanto. "Go Slow Streets" (a1) dal moderato ritmo funky con vene jazz espresse soprattutto dal sassofono, percussioni insistenti, buona presenza di organo e basso e con alcune parole in Inglese cantate sottovoce. "Jam Session" (a5) grande prova di jazz-funk esibita da organo, strumenti a fiato, basso e batteria. "Bush" (b2) caratterizzata da una miscela esplosiva di African boogie, Funk, Jazz e dal ritmo molto vivace anche con assoli delle percussioni e una chitarra dal suono un pò acido. 

Notes : great music fully based on funk, jazz and African rhythms. Manu Dibango not only composes this amazing film score but also shows all his huge talent as a saxophonist, pianist and vibraphone player. The main instruments used are the keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and percussion, saxophone, trumpet and vibraphone. The rhythms are mostly intense with a few traces by the moderately slow development. All tunes would deserve to be mentioned but, imagining that many collectors can already know this soundtrack, also in consideration by its recent vinyl reissue made ??by the same record company and easily recognizable from the original due to the presence of the magnetic stripe at the bottom right of the back cover, I will underline just three. "Go Slow Streets" (a1) from the moderate funky rhythm with jazzy vein sounded mainly by the sax, insistent percussions, good presence of organ and bass and with a chant of a few words in English in a low voice. "Jam Session" (a5) full of jazz-funk performed by organ, brass instruments, bass and drums. "Bush" (b2) characterized by an explosive mixture of African Boogie, Funk, Jazz and by very lively rhythm also with percussion solos and some acid sonorities of a guitar.
