30 EXCEPTIONAL INTERPRETATIONS, 1955-1965, No. 1
A selection of songs recorded during the period 1955-65.
Most of these songs were recorded with the supervision of Manos Hadjidakis, and first released on 78 rpm and 45 rpm in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
Certain songs, such as ILISSOS with Yovanna, THE PLAYTHING with Ninette Lavar, ATHENS with Panos Gavalas, and NEVER ON SUNDAY with Poly Panou, were recorded without the composer’s presence, and released on 45 rpm by various record companies to which the singers belonged. In this instance, reference is made only to the year each song was recorded, and same are not included in the composer’s Ergography. Such songs as YOU WERE A CHILD LIKE CHRIST and A SENSITIVE ROBBER with Dimitra Galani, although recorded as per specified year, were not previously released.
