Mangrove Boogie Kings – Self-titled EP (orig. Australia Mullet / EMI Custom STEREO 13149)

Release date: August 1981.  Recording dates: 1976 (S2/T1), June 1978 (S1/T3 & S2/T2), July 1978 (S1/T1&2).

On offer here is an original issue of the only independently released EP by Sydney-based ROCKABILLY group, the MANGROVE BOOGIE KINGS.  This EP contains five tracks recorded in 1976 & 1978, and was issued posthumously in 1981.  It is hopelessly rare now and would have been pressed in a very small quantity at the time (manufactured by EMI Custom).

As a former President of the Blues Association of South East Queensland (BASEQ), I would love to see this HISTORICAL AUSSIE BLUES ARTEFACT go to a good home.  Good luck with your bidding!

VG++ visual: beautiful glossy sheen—some insignificant hairlines (EX overall), two surface scuffs across most of “Ripoff Blues” (VG+); audible: PUNCHY and VIBRANT, sounds great despite some underlying surface noise (EX), part of “Ripoff Blues” has some insignificant background pops (VG+), also heard a couple of light pops on the last track.  GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER COPY! ; labels: HARDLY ANY SPINDLE WEAR.
