Description
This is a very good original U.S. pressing copy of the third and final LP (not counting archival releases) by Philadelphia psych/prog group the Mandrake Memorial, released in 1970. The group forged a unique jazz-inflected sound with electric harpsichord and thickly distorted guitar, and became a popular regional opening act. (According to the Wikipedia page on them, they even appeared on TV with Pink Floyd.) The group's swan song continues their move away from the more pop oriented sound of their debut, and is more ambitious than its predecessor. The gatefold jacket has substantial creasing and wear in one corner (see photo) and some creasing elsewhere, and ring, spine, and seam wear (VG+). The disc has a fair amount of scraping and scuffing, and some loss of glossiness, and it plays with steady moderate surface noise and some crackling and mostly light popping (VG). The record comes with the original label inner sleeve, but lacks the circular insert.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
