Black/Blue Label Stereo Original UK pressing 1969 LABEL / LABELCODE MATRIX NUMBERS EXTRAS GRADING Pye NSPL 18275 18275 A & B Front-Laminated Single Flipback Cover EX/EX+ DESCRIPTION One of Wales' most enduring groups, formed in 1968. Hailing from Swansea, Man evolved from a Merthyr Tydfil-based harmony-vocal pop group called The Bystanders, of which Micky Jones and Clive John were members. Deke Leonard defected to them from fellow Welsh group The Dream, and in 1968 Man was born. At the time, Swansea was enjoying a healthy music scene. Man signed to Pye, and in 1969 released this debut album. A great and stunning debut, also notable for the song "Erotica", which received a UK ban due to its simulated orgasm sounds. CONDITIONS RECORD: Visually both sides are deep shiney black and has all of its original gloss, seen in critical 100W light! Both sides are in EXCELLENT condition with only small amount of tiny hair line marks from being removed from the inner sleeve and a few non-audible scuffs. Both sides of this great album play with only some slight clicks, pops or crackles. The sound quality is full and unworn. LABELS: Both 1st press labels are still in EXCELLENT condition with only minimal spindle marks. COVER: Front-only laminated single flipback cover in great conditon! No creases. No tape. No splits. No writings, no stamps, no stickers. Only slight corner wear, that's all. The wonderful unlaminated rear is nearly spotfree!!! Only a little browning!! This legendary cover is at least EXCELLENT+ or better! SUMMARY A must for every collector of UK psych!! An absolutely great debut!!
