Description
This is (probably) a private press album from the school from sometime in the early 70's . The album is made up of a few speeches and some surprisingly good cover versions. Side One has "Intro By Dr. Charles G Hurst...", "The MXC School Song" , a cover of Deep Purple's "Hush" , The Beginning Of The End's "Funky Nassau" and (Bobby Bland's?) "With These Hands". The B side has the group's versions of Osibisa's "Music For Gong Gong", the standard "(My) Funny Valentine", "Short Message From Dr. Charles G. Hurst" and last but not least Nina Simone's "Young , Gifted And Black".
Like most copies of the album, this one has been water damaged- I would grade the cover higher but the cover doesn't lay flat- it's kind of wavy. There is also some foxing on the bottom third of the back cover. On the plus side, the cover is nice and glossy and the seams are all solid and tight. The record is in very good ++ condition with shiny vinyl with a few light marks except for "MXC School Song" which has a small scratch that causes light clicks for the last 30 seconds of the song- besides "MXC School Song", the rest of the album plays through without any problems.
