Description

This is a super-rare ORIGINAL LABEL LP by MAJIK SHIP, a NYC heavy psych band whose one and only album was available in only a small quantity. This 1970 album is hard-to-find on the original Bel-Ami label (BA #711), most copies being bought up in the New York City area (***definitely read the story below about the record's NYC bonafides). The cover is completely intact with only the very slightest bit of ringwear along the bottom-back and very little age discoloration. There is barely any spine or edge wear with only a tiny 1/8" peelback at the front-bottom right front corner (see fifth picture). The record itself still has a lot of shine to it but there are visible scruffs and lines on the vinyl that do not seem to affect play in any major way (probably the weakest link in the description); The record plays amazingly well: Both sides of the record play at VG++ at the very start but quickly settle in to play at Mint Minus for the most part. The original owner did write his initials (BS) on each side of the label (visible in the pictures). BTW, the album features a cover of Neil Young's then-newly released "Down By the River" in a medley with "For What It's Worth."

*** READ: Regarding the NYC bonafides of this LP: The white inner sleeve (see the last picture) has a lot of handwritten scriblings that I'm trying to make sense of: They seem to have been written by a NYC policeman in 1970; it includes info on one John Manniel(?) his address in Brooklyn [where the band originated], a description of him and the car he drove with the plate number, "met me on 7/14/70" and . . . "MANAGED MAJIC SHIP." Not exactly sure what to make of any of this.
Shipping in the US is free but a buyer from Canada will need to add $14 and an international buyer agrees to add $26 for international airpost. Please write if you have any questions.
