MADRIGAL beneath the greenwood tree UK LP private press folk
Stunning condition, this copy was purchased (indirectly) from a member of the group who had a couple of unplayed copies.
The sleeve has only light storage wear and light rubbing due to being moved a few times (very small disc split to the top of the sleeve).
The sleeve is a single paste over on both sides... early copies often had two covers pasted one on top of the other, this was due to rippling once dried out... slightly later in the run the correct amount of paste was used, the sleeves didn't ripple and no corrective action was required.
We are based in the Cotswolds, with some band members living just one or two miles from us in almost every direction... We think the tree on the cover is possible one of several similar trees on Minchinhampton Common... but as the years have passed, it is difficult to be sure.
Nice baroque folk music, femvox on some tracks, some self-penned tracks and contemporary covers.
After appearing in the Record Collector rare UK private pressings article in the mid-90's several of these appeared in the market place, making the prices come down... however in recent years, this seems to have returned to it's usual position of scarcity.
